I've put a few new items up since I posted last including some great vintage Corelle and Corning pieces. I ship worldwide. If your country is not listed please convo me and I will be happy to include it on my listing. I have a postal scale and charge exactly what it costs me to ship. No inflated shipping costs.

I fell in love

with these bowls. What a wonderful etsy shop!
Hooray! I did my first ever Treasury list today. It's up on Treasury West.

I <3 everything damask, so naturally my treasury is all about damask finds on etsy.

Sneak Attack in 15 minutes!

Quick! Get over to The Handmade Movement for the next "Sneak Attack" event on etsy!

I wrote more about sneak attacks the other day.

Origami Boxes

Just posted my first handmade item on my shop. My passion is vintage, and mostly I focus on that, but I've gotten into origami boxes lately. They are so handy and pretty! I have several here on my desk to keep the smaller odds and ends organized.

Sneak Attacks at The Handmade Movement

What a fun idea! Check out "Sneak Attacks" at Handmade movement for some random acts of kindness Etsian style.

Here is the basic principle of the Sneak Attack:

What's a Sneak Attack? Three days a week at an appointed time, an Etsy shop with few or no sales is announce on this site. As many people as possible then buy items from that shop, resulting in a frenzy of surprise business to the unsuspecting shop! Want to join in? I bet you do! Read on...

Below is the current Sneak Attack schedule. To participate, show up on this site at or soon after the time of the next attack and you'll see the chosen shop name. Then go to that shop and purchase an item, making sure to include the words "Sneak Attack" in the "message to seller". The shop owner will also be informed of what is happening so they know just what is going on. Think you're too late for today's attack? Wrong! If the shop name is still up below, please go and make a purchase!

NEW: Send an email to SAlist [at] michaelphipps.net with the title "Sign me up" to be put on the Sneak Attack mailing list. You'll be contacted a few hours before each Sneak Attack with a friendly reminder.

The next SA is on Monday Jan 26th at 6pm. Let's all jump on board!

Heartomatic

I was hanging out on the etsy forums, and learned about a nifty website that calculates everyone who hearts your etsy shop, hearted individual items, and calculates total store views.

Heartomatic is such a fun (and useful toy)!

Just put up a new item that I wish I could keep! It's a vintage leather jacket, with the softest leather in a citrus-y color.

Etsy in the news, and full time crafting.

CNN.com has an inspiring article up about an MFA grad with whopping loans who makes it all work with etsy.

"Jessica Marquez was facing the exorbitant expense of living in New York City with nothing but a newly minted Masters of Arts degree and $70,000 in student loan debt. The recent transplant to the Big Apple has the enthusiasm of someone with her whole life ahead of her, but as bills rolled in, so did reality: Her day job as an image archivist at a Chelsea art gallery just wasn't cutting it. So to earn extra income, Marquez, 27, started selling her embroidered artwork online at Etsy.com."

LukeAndrea pitchers in a treasury!

Just received word that one of my items made it into a really nice Treasury on Treasury West!

Check it out! The two retro pitchers are from my shop.

I really like those MOM coffee mugs, too.

From the Virtual Labs newbie session

Just got back from the Newbie session at Etsy's Virtual Labs

Here are a few tips and links I picked up at the session!

* A great article on international etsy shipping

* Track your sales to see which days you sell most. Post new items on these days.

* List items just before a bunch of treasuries expire, because lots of people will be looking for items for the new treasuries.

* Try to get an Etsy Treasury! A treasury is a user created list of other members' items.

* Treasury West: There is also a "beta" type version of the treasuries that may be easier to get a listing in called Treasury West

* Etsy FAQ

* Etsy Seller Handbook

Other comments from folks in the room:

"I would say about 50% of my sales come from spending time in chat rooms"

"I like google Adwords. I am an Adwords ninja."

Can't wait to create my first Treasury

The Treasury feature over at www.etsy.com is super fun, although it seems like I will wait ages before trying my own hand.

At the Treasury, you can found hand-picked groups of items selected by Etsy members. Right now, there are 584 member created lists, and we wait until the number of lists drops below 333 to add a new one. It never seems to go down, but I'm having fun looking at all the beautiful picks!

And, below is a retro serving dish for sale at

Welcome to LukeAndrea

Hello, My name is Andrea, and my husband and I have started an etsy shop. We recently decided to sell some of the lovely things that have been passed down through my family. We've figured out which things are purposeful to us and which things would end up wrapped in paper in storage. How many cute retro cream and sugar sets does one need, anyway? :)

Thus far I've been blown away by the community and the beauty of the site. The wealth of information, help, and love on the site is just fantastic, and I'm looking forward to a future of participation.
